Week of December 19

Christmas is almost here! Just one week to go! This is sure to be a busy and fun week at school. I'm sure families are busy at home as well, so there will be NO homework assigned this week.

Curriculum Notes

In literacy, we continue to work on procedural writing. We have completed a shared writing activity and students have worked with partners and in small groups. This week, they will do some individual writing.

In math, we will continue to work on reading and writing time to the hour and half hour.

The Christmas concert is this Thursday, December 22 at 12:30 pm. I hope you can make it. We have been working hard on our song and dance. Please have your child wear a green top and dark bottoms on Thursday.

On Tuesday, December 20, we will be making gingerbread houses with our grade 4 reading buddies. Please send in some nut free candy, white icing and a plastic bag for carrying the gingerbread houses home.

In religion, the third Advent liturgy is on Monday, December 12 at 12:45 pm. We continue to learn about the Christmas story and are focusing on completing good deeds to prepare for Christmas. I am noticing the students really making an effort to help each other!

We are also rehearsing our Christmas concert song and dance. If possible, please look for a green top and dark (blue, black, brown) bottoms for your child to wear on the day of the concert. The concert dress rehearsal for the school is Wednesday, December 21 and the presentation for parents will be on Thursday, December 22 at 12:30 pm.
