Week of June 5
Curriculum Notes
This week in literacy, we will continue to work on persuasive writing. This will tie in nicely with our upcoming media unit where students will create a commercial to advertise their own brand of juice. We also continue to practise our reading skills in small groups.
In math, we continue to work with probability. We are focusing on certain, impossible, likely and unlikely events. Students will also discuss more likely and less likely events using spinners and coloured cubes.
In science, we are reviewing ways to save energy and will look at energy "outputs" such as light, sound, heat or movement.
In family life, we are looking at the amazing world God has given us and how we are responsible for caring for our world and for each other.
In drama, we will continue to express ourselves through short readers theatre skits.
A reminder that this Friday, June 9 is a PD Day.
