Curriculum Notes

In literacy, our last word wall words for the year are:

     these
We will continue to practise reading and work on the skill of inferring.

In math, we will complete our unit on 2D and 3D shapes and begin to look at the concept of symmetry.

In science, we will review the importance of the sun as a source of energy. We will also look at how we use energy, for example, for heat, light, sound or movement.

A reminder that we will be having another Scientists in School workshop on Thursday, May 18. If you are able to volunteer, please complete the form that was sent home last week or write me a note in your child's agenda.

In family life, we will soon be beginning Theme 3 called "Created Sexual: Male and Female." A letter describing this unit will be sent home before it is started in class.

In  music, we will look at tempo and pitch in music as well as discussing what the music makes us think of and how it makes us feel. We will be listening to "The Carnival of the Animals" by Camille Saint-Saens.
